After many years in the ‘corporate world’ in HR, Jo started her own business in August 2005 publishing a local community magazine. She grew that business mainly through networking: meeting local business people, getting to know them, connecting them with each other and helping them to achieve their business goals (and not necessarily through advertising in her magazine!). In 2007 she received a ‘Networker of the Year’ award from her local Chamber of Commerce.
In 2008 having always loved using the internet Jo started to explore the arena of internet marketing, which culminated in Jo Dodds Social Media www.jododdssocialmedia.com, which she set up to help small business owners, entrepreneurs and newbie internet marketers to market themselves online and get free traffic to their website using Social Media.
Jo loves connecting with people on Social Media but she doesn’t let it take over her life. In fact she believes that “if you haven’t got a process, you haven’t got a presence”, which is something that she works on with her students – connecting their goals with a strategy and process to make sure that they aren’t wasting their time on Social Media.
